Chris and Jen have many activities

February 27, 2005

Jennifer had THREE birthday parties to go to this weekend!  She was quite the active little girl.  She enjoyed spending time with each of her friends as they each had unique and fun parties planned.  One was a sleep over party in pajama's (without the sleepover).  Another one had their party at one of her favorite spots - Chuck E Cheese.  And the last one Saturday afternoon had a make-up party.  They all dressed in their favorite dress and they helped make each other up real pretty.  She had a great time at everyone's party.  She says "Thanks for inviting me!"

Chris had his first playoff basketball game today.  He did an excellent job scoring and running the offense.  He had a couple steals and rebounds in addition to 9 points.  He had two memorable moments in the game.  One where he stole the ball from the other team and dribbled and sprinted to the other end with the other team chasing him and he got to the basket under control and shot a lay up and it went in... AND he was fouled.  The other is when he got a late pass as time was running out and he dribbled to the middle of the lane and took a 10 foot shot and made it at the buzzer!  Unfortunately for the team, they fell just short with a 22-24 loss.

Chris played his basketball game today @ 1:00  His team is Texas Tech.  They fought hard and eventually lost 20-16.  Chris had 3 points and a handful of steals and rebounds.  It was a physical game in which the refs allowed quite a bit of fouling before our boys finally caught on late in the game.  Next week is his last game for the season!

Cub Scout Pine Wood Derby race!  Chris made a nice looking Patriotic car.  Blue with lots of red, white, and blue decals, and numbered the car #76.  However, since it was his (and dad's) first attempt at a Pine Wood car, we were rather slow.  Often finishing 4th or 5th of 6 cars in a heat.  His car ran 6 heats in all.  I think he was a little disappointed, but now that he has the experience behind him, he's looking forward to next year's race.  He already has ideas for next years car!  Below are some pictures of the event.  Chris' car is on the far left lane in the one shot of the cars racing.  Sorry the pictures are kind of dark.  I need to work on my editing skills!
